Michael Gratovich began playing the classical guitar at age eight. Growing up in a family of professional musicians in the Austin live music scene, music has always been an important factor in his life. Currently, he is a full time student at the University of Texas, pursuing a guitar performance degree under the tutelage of Professor Adam Holzman.
As a soloist and as a member of the prize winning Austin Sonance Guitar Trio, Michael has given many performances which include participation in the Twilight Concert Series in Jonestown, Texas, the Southwest Guitar Festival in San Antonio, the Guitars Galore Festival in Austin, and the Austin Young Artist Concert, as well as performances at the University of Texas at Brownsville, the Austin History Center, and numerous elementary, middle and high schools and other community outreach venues in Austin. He has played throughout the central Texas area, including Georgetown, Lakeway, Fredericksburg, Dripping Springs, Wimberly, Kyle, and San Marcos. Additionally, he has played for weddings and receptions in such well known Austin landmarks as the Driskill Hotel, the Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center and the Austin Museum of Art at Laguna Gloria. |
